NEIP begins grant disbursement to 2025 ‘Adwumawura’ beneficiaries

The Government of Ghana, through the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has commenced the disbursement of grants to beneficiaries of the 2025 cohort under the ‘Adwumawura’ Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship and job creation.
The programme, designed to equip young Ghanaians with the skills and resources needed to build sustainable businesses, has so far trained and mentored 10,887 beneficiaries nationwide.
Participants underwent five weeks of intensive entrepreneurial training, followed by six months of structured mentorship to strengthen their business operations and long-term viability.
As part of the transition from training to funding, a rigorous and transparent selection process was implemented to identify high-potential businesses for financial support.
A Grant Management Committee—comprising representatives from academia, government institutions, financial agencies, development partners, and the private sector—was established to oversee the process and ensure accountability.
Beneficiaries were required to submit detailed business plans outlining their proposed ventures and innovations.
These applications were subjected to an initial screening based on key criteria, including scalability, job creation potential, sustainability, and feasibility.
Shortlisted applicants advanced to a nationwide pitching stage, where they presented their ideas before the committee for further evaluation.
Following this process, a total of 3,212 beneficiaries were selected across all regions to receive grant support.
The commencement of disbursement marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the Adwumawura Programme, reinforcing government’s commitment to reducing youth unemployment and driving inclusive economic growth.
NEIP has indicated that it will continue to support beneficiaries through post-disbursement monitoring and business advisory services to ensure the sustainability and success of funded enterprises.
